Hello
Meet Hawa U. Jalloh: A Passionate Advocate for Mental Wellness Born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, I grew up in a large family, learning the value of selflessness and resilience. My journey to the United States at age 24, leaving behind my young daughter, was a testament to my determination to create a better life. As a single mother, I faced numerous challenges, including parental guilt, but persevered to bring my daughter to America.
My Story
-
From Adversity to Empowermen
My experiences fueled my passion for social work. I saw firsthand the devastating effects of untreated mental health issues in my community and family. My own struggles with depression and feeling overwhelmed as a mother of a child with special needs deepened my understanding of the importance of support.
-
Education and Purpose
I pursued higher education, earning a master’s degree in social work, to make a meaningful difference. My goal is to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage others to seek help. I envision expanding my group private practice, offering monthly group sessions that foster connection and growth.
